Take in this playful lithographic exhibition on cats and dogs by Dutch artist Karel Appel (1921-2006) and German-born artist Dieter Roth (1930-1998). Appel’s colorful expressionistic renderings from his Cats portfolio contrast with Roth’s frenetic and mostly monochromatic canines from his 2 Times 5 Dogs portfolio. Experience the Magic of the Magic City at TICA’s 2018 Annual Cat Show in Birmingham, Alabama. Hosted by the Alabama Paws and Claws Cat Club, the show will feature more than 400 cats (representing most of TICA’s accepted breeds), feline agility and vendors with lots of cool stuff for cats and cat people. If you’re bringing your kids, be sure to check out TICA Cat Care 101, in which they’ll complete a 10-minute presentation on cat care and receive a beautiful embroidered patch and certificate. The Catio Tour offers cat lovers the opportunity to tour up to 12 catios in Portland, Oregon, ranging from fancy to functional to DIY to professionally crafted. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., this self-guided event will help raise awareness about the catio craze – which directly results in a safer environment for cats and birds. Hosts, volunteers and staff will be available for tour and program information. The tour promotes the Cats Safe at Home Campaign founded by the Audubon Society of Portland, Feral Cat Coalition of Oregon and the Animal Services of Multnomah County and Washington County. Check out this special TICA breed show hosted by Skyway Cat Club. Cats will compete in 12 different rings on both days, and judges from around the world will weigh in. You’ll meet lots of gorgeous Ragdolls, as well as many other cat breeds. The show is fun for cat fans of all ages and features vendors, adoptable cats and kittens and a raffle table. Hours are 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. both days. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Kids under 6 are free. The show takes place at the Park Inn Radisson Resort (Conference Center) in Kissimmee, Florida.
