Looking for a way to celebrate our feline friends in September? Here are some fun September 2018 cat events.

All month: Appel vs. Roth – Cats and Dogs

Nasher Gallery; Karel Appel, Sunshine Cat from the portfolio Cats, 1978. Lithograph on paper, edition 95/125; Collection of the Nasher Museum. Gift of Mr. Randall E. Heine. Photography © Artists Rights Society (ARS), New York/Karel Appel Foundation

Take in this playful lithographic exhibition on cats and dogs by Dutch artist Karel Appel (1921-2006) and German-born artist Dieter Roth (1930-1998). Appel’s colorful expressionistic renderings from his Cats portfolio contrast with Roth’s frenetic and mostly monochromatic canines from his 2 Times 5 Dogs portfolio.
