A new internet radio station is playing calming music for cats 24 hours a day. The composer of the music is David Teie, a soloist with the National Symphony Orchestra who consulted scientists in creating “Music for Cats. “All the music we hear is designed for humans, based on our vocalizations and development,” Teie told Little Black Book. “Based on that understanding of composition, it only makes sense that if you use the same recipe used in human music but use ingredients that have been tailored to another species, you can create effective music for that species.” I played this for Allegra and Ruby, but they were already sleeping, so it probably wasn’t a good test. However, I found myself becoming very relaxed – maybe I really am a cat? You and your cat can listen to Cat Calm Radio here.

If you missed any of the stories featured on the Conscious Cat this week, here’s a recap: on Monday, we celebrated Allegra’s 9th birthday, on Tuesday, we introduced you to some beautifully made and affordable cat trees and condos, on Wednesday, we reminded you that the new season of My Cat From Hell premieres today, on Thursday, we told you how the Assisi Loop helps a cat with chronic bladder inflammation, and on Friday, we introduced you to Tiffanie McCullough, the director of Trapking Humane Cat Solutions.

Since it’s Labor Day weekend in the US, I thought I’d share a video of a working cat. Flame is a firehouse kitty. Jackson Galaxy went to visit her firehouse on the companion series to My Cat From Hell, My Cat from Heaven, which features inspirational and feel-good stories.

My Cat From Hell, “My Cat from Heaven Clip”

My Cat From Hell, “My Cat from Heaven Clip” Thanks Jackson Galaxy!
